Despite its short-lived Wear24 smartwatch, Verizon has not been put off from launching new wearables. This time it’s turning its attention to the kids with the GizmoWatch.
The latest addition to its Gizmo line is designed for kids aged 3-11 and brings LTE connectivity with 2-way voice calling and messaging. So your little ones can stay in touch with 10 contacts that approved by parents.

The GizmoWatch is available in blue or pink and comes with standard 22mm interchangeable watch straps. It also packs a 1.3-inch, 240×240 AMOLED display with a 510mAh battery offering 4-7 days of watch time.
There are features on board to help parents keep a closer eye on their kids including location tracking and the ability to set GPS-based boundaries sending out alerts to the GizmoHub companion app (Android and iOS) when they leave those areas. Parents can also remotely turn off the device from their own phone.
But there’s features for kids on here too like a hopscotch tracker and a voice changing mode to make the GizmoWatch feel more fun to use. A built-in fitness tracker will help keep them active and send out inactivity reminders to keep them on the move too.
The Gizmowatch is available to pre-order from Verizon now and goes on sale on 10 October. It’s priced at $179.99 with a $30 one-off activation fee. You’ll also need the $5 a month plan that unlocks the ability to receive calls from approved users. Here’s hoping it fares a bit better than Verizon’s smartwatch for grown ups.
