If you’re shopping for deals on fitness trackers, sports watches and smartwatches on
Amazon Prime Deals Day, we’ve got you covered. Here you’ll find early word on all the latest deals in the US and UK.
Prime Day will work much the same as Black Friday, with a handful of deals running all day, but the majority appearing as timed “lightning” deals. That means you’ll have to be online at the right time to bag what you want, which is where Wareable comes in. Check when they go live here and bookmark this page so you can click straight though quickly and easily.
There’ll also be a few deals though that run throughout the day, and we will keep you posted on the site as soon as they drop so you don’t miss out. Until things kick off, here’s what you need to know about Prime Day.

What is Amazon Prime Day?
Not satisfied with the shopping bonanza that is Black Friday? If that’s the Thanksgiving of deal days, Prime Day is Christmas morning, offering discounts on a variety of products across the site. However note that, in order to get in on the action, you’ll need to be a Amazon Prime subscriber, which means paying $99 a year. The good news is that if you haven’t already got yourself a subscription, you can get a month’s free trial. For Prime Day 2017, Amazon ran a $20 off special on Prime membership, so there’s a chance it may do something similar this time, too.
When does Amazon Prime Day start?
The sale kicks off Monday 16 July at pm 12pm PT/3pm ET/8pm BST, and can be accessed in the UK, US, Spain, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada and Austria. It runs for a day and a half, so there’s a decent amount to grab yourself a bargain.

Hit the link above for the main Amazon Prime Day page, but like last year, it’s likely it won’t be just Amazon posting deals around this time. In the UK, John Lewis, Currys/PC World and Argos got in on the action so keep a look out on those sites too.
Amazon Prime Day deals to look out for
We don’t know what deals will be until they go live or what wearables will be discounted, but based on previous Prime Days, we can get a good idea of what may be available on 16 July. There’s a strong chance there will still be some big brands that will take part in Prime Day, so we’ve picked out some key suspects below.
Yes, there’s a very good chance that you’ll be able to find a Fitbit deal or two on Prime Day. Amazon has in recent months run discounts on Fitbit’s fitness trackers including the Charge 2 and Fitbit Alta as well as its Ionic smartwatch. In some cases it was more than $50 off so Prime Day could be another good day to shift some of that Fitbit stock.

For those hoping to get their hands on the Fitbit Versa smartwatch, that might be one wearable that is likely to stay at its original price based on the fact that it’s only recently launched. But as for the Charge 2, Alta HR and accessories like its Flyer headphones and smart scale, well these are more likely candidates to make the cut. If you need a hand working out which device is best for you, definitely check out our Fitbit buying guide.
Apple doesn’t usually get in on the Prime Day deals itself, but you’ll often find price reductions on the Apple Watch from Amazon and other retailers. So in the US, keep an eye on Walmart and Best Buy in particular. As for the UK, retailers like Currys PC World and Argos are the usual suspects.

And we’ll be updating our Apple Watch deals page, which you can get to via the above link, as those deals roll in.
With the Gear S4 seemingly nearing on the horizon, the Gear Sport (which includes swim tracking) and the Gear S3 smartwatches are candidates to get a reduction on Prime Day. There’s also the Gear Fit2 Pro, which like the Sport offers swim tracking along with GPS inside a slimmer design.
Samsung’s Gear IconX are some of the best hearables we’ve tried out so definitely keep a look out for those as well.
If you’re all about your running, cycling, swimming or sports tracking in general, Prime Day could be your best friend to pick something up suitable on the cheap. You only have to take a look at our latest reviews to know that we’re big fans of what Garmin is doing with is wearables right now. While we don’t expect the new Fenix 5 Plus or the award-winning Forerunner 935 to be in on the Prime Day action, the Fenix 3, Fenix 3 HR, Forerunner 235 and 735XT are more likely to get some cut-price love.

Garmin’s more smartwatch-like Vivoactive watches could be included too. These Garmins might be a couple of years old, but their offerings are similar to a lot of the newer models as far as sports tracking, smartwatch features and battery life are concerned.
Huawei’s Wear smartwatches, including the excellent first generation Watch, were included in last year’s Prime Day and we anticipate that the same is due again this year. The Huawei Watch 2, for instance, packs GPS, cellular and a sporty design making it a solid Wear smartwatch option. And, in fact, whispers suggest that there’ll be $80 off both the Sport (potentially putting it as low as $219.99) and Classic version of the device.
On the fitness tracker front, the Huawei Band 2 Pro is one of the best value wearables you can get, and a $20 discount is reportedly planned for Prime Day, too.
If there’s one company we think is going to get some Prime Day love it’s Fossil. Simply because there’s a whole lot of them and as the brand refreshes its Wear smartwatches and hybrid smartwatches it should mean older models will get discounted. Fossil’s Q range have been reduced in the past and we have a feeling its first and second generation watches will get similar treatment for this year’s Prime Day.
Nokia’s health business is now back with Withings (we know, ridiculous), but the plan is for Nokia’s smartwatches to still be on sale for the time being. The Steel HR is in our opinion one of the best hybrids you can get your hands on right now and is surely primed for a nice discount. Other Nokia branded connected health devices like its smart scale could also get the Prime treatment too.
