According to Evan Blass (aka @Evleaks) the wearables will arrive running the new Android Wear 2.0 software.

We first heard of these watches, codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish back in July. AndroidPolice sources said the larger Angelfish device would be a standalone watch with GPS and 4G LTE connectivity.

The thinner and lighter Swordfish was described as a more scaled back model, suited to pairing with an Android or iOS smartphone.

Both of the watches will be compatible with the MODE bands for Android Wear watches.

If these devices do launch with Android Wear 2.0, they would likely be the first to do so out of the box.

Late last month, Google announced it was delaying the release of the overhauled OS until 2017. The reason being the addition of Play Store support, enabling users to browse and download apps directly from their wrist.
