An advantage when using an Apple device is that its iOS is constantly being updated. These updates are ways to fix bugs and ensure the better usability of the features Apple devices have. IOS is definitely one of the commended systems to come around, as each update holds new features that everyone will find usable for their lifestyle and productivity. The many updates Apple has may even have features that you may not know about, with you even using it unknowingly! While these updates and new features may be great for some, they may also be a disturbance for others. So here’s how to disable some of the features you may be unknowingly using on your iOS device.
What iOS Features Are You Accidentally Using?
These are three features on your iOS device you may be accidentally using, two from an iPhone and one from an iPad. Check what these features are and see how to disable them (Or if not, how to use them effectively!):
This is a feature that’s available for those who have an iPhone 6 on iOS 8. The reason Reachability is there is for those who have tiny hands or fingers (no offense!) and struggle with using the bigger screen of Apple. After all, while Apple’s evolving, some hands aren’t able to catch up! This feature moves the screen down so you will be able to use the screen like you normally would. All you need to do is double tap the home button.
If you’re accustomed to the screen and have no problem at all, then this may be a battery drainer, or just a disturbance when you accidentally double tap your home button. To disable Reachability, here’s what you do:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility.
- Search for Reachability option and switch it off.
2. Shake to Undo
This feature has been existing on iOS devices for a long time. If you get irritated ith the constant window appearing when accidentally shaking it, you can turn it off by:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility
- Search for Shake To Undo option and switch it off.
3. iPad Multitasking
This feature is exclusively for iPads, where you are able to go through multiple windows. But for those who don’t need that or do not use their iPad for productivity related tasks, here’s how you will be able to turn it off:
- Go to Settings > Multitasking
- Look for Allow Multiple Apps option and switch it off.
And those are the three features you may be using accidentally on your iPhone or iPad. While you can easily disable them, you may actually find you in these features and continue taking advantage of it! There are tons of features Apple has to offer, some of them useful, while some just a hinder. It all depends on the user’s lifestyle.
So, do you have any other features or widgets your iOS device has but want to disable? Let us know what they are!
