Here’s what’s new in iOS gaming this week!

Every Thursday, I go on a quest to find all the notable new games released on the App Store over the week, but instead of taking all the gold and experience for myself, I pass my knowledge on to you! Whether you’re looking for new games, games on sale, or wondering if your favorite game got a big update, I’ll break down all the notable iOS gaming news for you!

New games of the week

Need something new and shiny? Every week tons of games hit the App Store, and I keep track, so you don’t have to; here are the notable releases for this week.

Death Point

Spies, tactical combat, stealthy missions, and a good amount of gunslinging is what you can expect from Death Point.

This top-down, dual-stick stealth game promises an epic 12-hour story that stretches across 10 chapters where you will be tasked to kill and sneak past a wide variety of enemies.

In this post-apocalyptic, cyber punk world, mistakes will not be forgiven. In other words, be prepared to get a game over or two as you adapt to the challenge of the game.

Home Behind

Home Behind is a rogue-like adventure game that combines some fun RPG elements like jobs, skills, and crafting into a powerful story about refugees feeling their homes.

You’ll play as a refugee who is trying to make the 1500km trek away from home to a safer place. You’ll need to survive rough conditions, day and night, as you manage your food, watch out for wildlife, and be careful who you associate with.

All the events in the game are randomly generated, meaning no two playthroughs will ever be the same.

Luke’s game of the week

Every week I’m falling in love with a new game or re-playing an old favorite. Here’s what I have been playing this week!

Star Wars Force Arena

It’s worth the free download. The gameplay is fast and furious; the graphics and soundtrack are outstanding, and I have enjoyed the social interactions I have received in the game thus far.

Read my full review of Stars Wars: Force Arena

It’s easy to paint Star Wars: Force Arena as a Clash Royale copycat, and, at first glance, I was prepared to do the same thing. But once you play the game, you’ll realize Netmarble Games has thrown in several new elements — like the leader cards — that give Star Wars: Force Arena a particular edge.

Many of the drawbacks that Star Wars: Force Arena has are the same found in similar games. If you want to reach the top of the leaderboard, you’ll have to spend money. And yes, you will grow annoyed at the long wait times between opening card packs. Add in a tutorial that completely forgets to mention some important aspects of how to be successful, and you can conclude that Star Wars: Force Arena is far from perfect, but very enjoyable despite any flaws.
